Rafa's 3rd round encounter was against "veteran" Lleyton Hewitt, who he met at the same stage last year resulting in the same outcome - defeat for Hewitt - by a 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 scoreline.
Once again, it wasn't vintage Rafa, but I'm liking it anyway. Hewitt gave him a tough old match as he chased down everything, but it still seemed clear that whilst Lleyton ran his socks off, Rafa still had much in reserve. He isn't chasing those impossible balls down now when it 40-15 to his opponent, and he's just steadily moving through his matches without setting the world on fire, but again, I see this as good, as the competition starts somewhat properly as we enter the second week.
Good stuff though Rafa. Keep it up!!
